He began his career in investment banking at Credit Suisse in the Financial Sponsors Group, advising private equity firms and their portfolio companies on debt, equity and M&A transactions. David then joined Diamond Castle, a private equity fund, where he evaluated, executed and monitored investments across a variety of industries including healthcare, financial services, energy and media. Following Diamond Castle, David attended Harvard Business School, where he & his section mate (Greg) formed a search fund vehicle designed to acquire and operate one lower middle market business. David & Greg searched for, acquired, operated & sold smarTours, a value-oriented tour operator, generating an outsized return (49% net IRR) for investors. David served as co-CEO and on the Board of Directors from 2013 to 2019. David is actively involved in the broader search fund community. David is a Visiting Executive at Harvard Business School involved in the Entrepreneurship through Acquisition course (the course on search funds) and is a regular lecturer at other top MBA programs across the country. David also co-authored Yale School of Management cases entitled “A Call to Philanthropy in the Search Fund Ecosystem” and “On the Nature of Building an Internship Program in a Search Fund Project.” He serves on the Board of Directors of several companies on behalf of Footbridge Partners: Softrip, 360 Smart Networks, AQC Traffic Control, Green Acres Lawn Care & Landscaping, and PerryGolf. He also serves on The Haverford School’s Leadership Council. David lives outside Philadelphia, PA with his wife and two sons.
